Hello,
My name is Dr. Tanja Sukovic Derry and I am happy to serve
the Parker community. I would like to take this opportunity
to introduce and let you know a little bit about myself
and how I intend to help families in the area reach optimal
health and increase activity levels.I am originally from
the Chicago area and graduated from National University
of Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. I chose
to become a Chiropractic Physician because the field offers
alternative approaches in assisting the body’s own ability
to heal and prevent unwanted conditions when properly functioning.
I am eager to apply my skills in alternative medicine and
improve the overall lifestyle of residents in the community.
Parker is a beautiful city and I am extremely excited to
be here!
Where I am from...
I was born and raised in Alsip, Illinois and am the youngest
of four children. My parents came to America from Serbia/
Montenegro in 1970 and taught me to live my life with hard
work, generosity, respect, and honesty. I live my life with
those characteristics instilled in me and therefore have
a love for those in my life and for my career in Chiropractic.
I have seven nieces and nephews in the Chicago area that
I love and miss very much.
Where I Went to School...
I am a graduate from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. While there I earned a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. I was a division I tennis player at NIU which allowed me to bond with many teammates and travel a lot. Playing a competitive sport has taught me the importance of maintaining wellness and preventing injury.
After graduating from NIU I decided to go into the medical field. At National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois I studied every aspect of the human body: its anatomy, the physiologic reactions that take place, pathologies that occur in every system, how to use nutrition effectively, and the latest chiropractic treatments and techniques. I graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a certification in Acupuncture. I studied and practiced under Dr. Manuel Duarte who is certified by the American Board of Chiropractors of Sports Physicians American Board of Chiropractors in Orthopedics. At NUHS I learned to treat many common conditions that negatively affect people trying to live healthy and active lives.
My goals as a Chiropractic Physician...
My goals as a Chiropractic physician in Parker is to be
the "one stop shop" for health and wellness. In
our office we utilize multiple therapies to ensure the best
reults. We use Chiropractic manipulation, acupuncture, kinesiotape,
muscle rehabilitation, custom orthotics, trigger point therapy,
muscle stimulation, and nutritional supplementation/counseling
to treat various conditions. We ask all new patients what
your health goals are and what your expectations are of
us at Derry Chiropractic. Afer that we do an examination,
diagnose the problem and consider your health goals
to formulate a treatment plan specific for you. If we encounter
a situation where we feel you need the assistance of another
physician we will be happy to refer you to the appropriate
physician.
I look forward to meeting you!
